Thursday Estimates (RTH) Apes - 3.3, PA - 2.1, Pla2 - 2

Rotten Tomatoes' consensus about Hercules proves how much the people in charge there parrot and peprpetuate the conventional fanboy narrative about Brett Ratner. In spite of the film's decent overall rating, their consensus is snarky, condescending, and ambiguous, as if they hated the idea of giving Ratner even a semi-decent review. This is why sometimes, I hate the whole fanboy hive mentality.

So many of their summations, good or bad, no matter the genre seem to have a preconceived feel about them.  This one is snarkier than most.  They're also getting lazy and doing the consensus far too soon on movies now.

The rating though isn't decent.  It's fresh now with 64% but it's avg rating is 5/10.  It seems like many of the Fresh ratings are reviewers giving it barely a pass for succeeding as cheesy dumb fun.

Completely agree with this comment.  They should wait until 60 reviews are in.  They called Hercules with only 30 reviews in, and we all know the RT score will keep falling considering the average score is 5/10.  It will probably end up around 50%.

The Hercules consensus is so vague though, it doesn't really tell you anything about the quality. Just "it's what you expect".  What about the people who don't have expectations formed about it yet?

Dumb consensus IMO.

5.61(+70%) + 8.13(+45%) + 6.01(-26%) = 19.75(-45%) for Apes imo, unless Thu creeps up a little.

It could surprise like last weekend and hit ~21m, if Thu # is deflated owing to Lucy and Hercules previews.
