tawasal
For 3-day, 40M is very difficult, yes.I hope it increases next week, because most movies in 2005 did.
Hiccup
Good for MI4. That is actually a good number for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo considering how long and dark the film is. Audiences don't want to see a dark film over Christmas. Expect great legs over January though.
Krissykins
No film is the real story here. The real story here is that the American box office is suffering and everything is underperforming.
druv10
For 3-day, 40M is very difficult, yes.No chance at 40M for the weekend. Most movies will drop 40-45% on Saturday.
fmpro
Great for MI4. this should become the highest grossing film this xmas..And not good for tatoo lady..SH2 and Alvin are doing okey..
fishstick
No film is the real story here. The real story here is that the American box office is suffering and everything is underperforming. The real story is that none of the movies was a must-see event that would defy recession. If one movie can do it (DH2) and a re-release can do it (TLK) than obviously these hyped movies are not in the same league no matter what their hype machine wants you to believe. druv10
I think story of 2011 is downfall of animation. We still had sequel that made money DH2, TF3, H2 and BD1. All animation sequels flopped massively.
acetabulum7
I agree the Tintin advertising has been very small. Compared to the other two. Watching football the last two weeks there was nothing but MI and DT oh and Sherlock. They knew it wasn't gonna do well in the states, so they didn't want to waste more money on advertising. Wonder why he is getting all these action roles.
