DAJK
I think the goal for this weekend should be for the openers to combine for 65M. Other than the odd film or franchise installment I'm rooting for to succeed on its own, I've become more concerned when looking ahead at a healthy box office in general.
DAJK
Speaking of healthy box office, 2019 looks insane. Not just Disney's slate (but particularly Disney's slate). I'm really rooting for films in particular though from other studios, because a monopoly is NOT a healthy box office.

Other than the odd film or franchise installment I'm rooting for to succeed on its own, I've become more concerned when looking ahead at a healthy box office in general. I am with you. I am tired to compare two films. I prefer to look at the general BO numbers and crossing fingers to see a lot of minor/mid succesful movies. Despite every year increasing BO, there are less movies reaching respectable numbers. Movies over 30M DOM each year 2017 - 83 2016 - 89 2015 - 83 2014 - 94 2013 - 92 2012 - 98 2011 - 100 2010 - 96 2009 - 93 2008 - 98 Do you see a pattern here? Despite increasing ticket prizes, there are less movies reaching 30M. That's troubling! 2018 might be a healthier BO year, not because of BP, IW or I2. It will be because we might reach again almost 100 movies over 30M.

Impact
Well what will win December? Aquaman? Bumblebee? Since we don't have a Star Wars.... November might be interesting also since there is no Marvel film. (It will likely be Ralph 2 I think or Fantastic Beasts 2)
