TwoMisfits
On 6/10/2017 at 4:45 PM, TwoMisfits said: Oooofff...this is a rough weekend. I think Rough Night is opening the wrong weekend - it should have waited til the next weekend when it's empty. I think Cars 3 has some sequel fatigue, but I'd love to know if it's a Pixar critical smash or a Pixar Good Dinosaur. I actually think the previews are pretty good, but very limiting to a Nascar-esque audience (they play that up more than they have the 1st 2). I have no feel for All Eyez on Me b/c I'm the least targeted audience for that movie, of the 3...and then I guess we have the already released 47 Meters Down which could be in 3500 theaters or 350...so, with very little confidence, but with nailing this week's movies (Mummy might even hit my number on the nose:), here's my guesses...if anything gets Baywatched by reviewers again, I may revisit these... Cars 3 - $54M (20% drop for sequel fatigue)... Rough Night - $22M All Eyez on Me - $21M 47 Meters Down - $3M (I don't believe 3500 screens, no way - if they get them, I may double this number, b/c I can't see this movie getting more than 1500-2000 theaters)... EDIT: With final reviews and theaters and presales, I gotta bring Rough Night down to $12M and 47 Meters up slightly to $5M...I'll stick with the other 2 numbers... Well, I did really well with Cars and should have swapped the bottom 2 movies... Thankfully, only one movie this week, so this should be quick... TF5 - how about $79M (Pirates 1st 5 days w/o discount Tuesday bump). Yep, I don't watch these movies, but the trailer didn't look horrific and someone will go. The seemingly awful presales give me a lot of pause, and I haven't see reviews. Under 20% and I'd probably knock 20% more off my number...

TwoMisfits
Okay, here are my guesses for this week... DM3 $119M Baby Driver (5 day) $27M - once I realized House was R and critics loved this, I changed my mind and think it's gonna win the battle of R comedies vs taking each other out... The House $7M - it becomes the big loser in the 3 comedy weekend since DM3 gets all the families and kids...and Baby Driver gets lots of the kidless adults...
