Given the fact the Coens have only had one film do that well-that is pretty high.

Edit: 72 million for Deadpool??? Really???

Risen sounds about right though. Would not surprise me if its even higher though.

Given the amount of ads I saw for Finest Hours over the Fall I would of expected it to make at least 20M for it's OW. Now I'm not so sure as I've not seen its trailer since the Fall. (I think Spectre was the last film I saw its trailer at)

Quick note for some predictions, see how this plays out in your market:

In Portland, we have 3 IMAX screens, all of which were supposedly going to Finest Hours. Now TFA keeps 2 out of 3 completely and the third will be shared with Finest Hours. The film must be tracking very poorly for Disney to decide to let TFA on its 7th weekend keep those screens.

Plus TFA may be holding better than some think.

Kung Fu Panda 3: $53 million

50 Shades of Black: $21 million

The Finest Hours: $16 million

TFA: $15 million

REV: $14.9 million

I know it is extremely optimistic but I am counting on pent up demand from the mega-blizzard, no football competition and those that wait a month or so before a second viewing.

And I am a rookie at this. :D
