I'm mostly disappointed when the overall box office is down on either expectations or compared to other years. This is not the case this weekend.

Even if I didn't care about that, 50sog is almost certainly making >80m in three days which is huge.

All the trades sites and tracking were saying $60-80. BOF was saying $80-100+. So no, its not dissapointing. Especially for an R-rated bondage sex movie in February making $30M in 1.2 days. This isnt a superhero movie. If expectations werent so inflated then we'd be raving this opening. Gtfo.

I'm still pulling for a big V Day to get this over 92m in the 3 day weekend and be the #1 R rated OW. I will be pleased with that, certainly not a disappointment, even if less than I expected.

For the 4th highest presales in history, this OD is less than half of the rest of the top 5 presales movies. It will increase today for sure, but the highest Feb opening and highest R-rated opening are still up for grabs and not the sure thing it looked like being.
