Also, I think Minions may be the first movie since Ferris Bueller's Day Off to have an actual Beatles recording of a Beatles song in it. It seems like most movies have only covers of Beatles songs, not the original versions.

$13-15 million isn't bad considering the competition

IO should have 5-25% drops until after Labor Day. JW will hold decently, too.

Minions is about as deserving of the record as Shrek 3 was. A good Disney/Pixar movie needs to take the record back. (Past record holders before Shrek 2 were Lion King, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Nemo)

Paramount should hire a better marketing team. If Uni could turn these little walking noisy medicine pills with glasses into some kind of global phenomenon I'm sure Paramount could have done a better job promoting the real 90's icon (T-800).
