That moment when Sony's top three grossers of the tear (Spectre excluded) will be underperforming Happy Madison movies.

Ricki, The Walk, that Seth Rogen X-Mas movie or Goosebumps could surprise and do $90-100 million DOM. Which would be enough to pass Pixels if it opens to $20-25 million.

Tomorrowland is the joke of the Summer. 190M budget, 202M WW total. And the movie is complete nonsense. At least he did Ghost Protocol which means he does have talent... but damn, if he didn't do that movie before, his career would have been over

I think that's a bit of hyperbole

Norway, Denmark, Vietnam, Singapore, Finland, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Austria, Germany, China. Just opened in Japan, still making quite a bit from existing overseas markets and about another 50 million domestic. Most likely going to finish in the 800 million range.

True, but look at Andrew Stanton now. If he had a franchise movie before John Carter and it was a hit then the failure of John Carter would not have basically barred him from live-action movies since. With Brad Bird, thanks to Ghost Protocol, he will get a mulligan live action movie.

It opens in a good chunk of Europe this week.

It's Australian performance has been one of the more interesting ones,

it opened its first weekend 3rd - behind the 2nd week of JW and 1st week of Minions.

It's 2nd weekend it dropped to 4th behind JW, 1st week Ted2, and Minions

Third weekend it rebounded to third behind first week of TG and Minions and went up from $2.4M to $3.3M

Fourth weekend it rose to first ahead of 1st week of MMXXL, Minions and TG and rose again up to $4.2M.

That's not something you see a ton of from movies. it's last 2 weekends there it has grown by 75%.

Not that interesting actually. Minions followed the exact same pattern as Inside Out, it was mainly because both movies were released on the same date 2 weeks prior to school holidays, so both of them have the same pattern of increases and decreases. Both movies also fell 60% the past weekend because school holidays were done.

It hasn't opened huge anywhere but is having good legs in a lot of markets.

If those Wednesday numbers hold, Minions will be tracking 2.5 million below Inside Out on its 2nd Wednesday. Inside Out had some awesome 2nd and third week holds.

Minions just rolling in money OS. Everywhere it opens it opens huge. Those little yellow dudes are huge.

@ Grimm, thank you. What are raw numbers?

He has access to a tracking service that gets totals from theater chains across NA
