terrestrial
Overall ticket sales were down roughly 7% from the year-ago period when “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” were still drawing healthy crowds. filmlover
Was Ricki and The Flash pretty much one of the most pointless movies released this year? There only hook was Meryl Streep holding a guitar. Like that is going to make people rush out and go see it. Overlook Meryl Streep sings and plays the guitar whoopte fucking do. It was actually a nice little movie (with one of Streep's better performances in a while, but then I tend to favor her more low-key performances vs. her more histrionic works), but Sony decided to dump it for some reason (giving it a minimal and nondescript marketing campaign, low theater count, etc.). Could've done around $60M with a better push/marketing.
grey ghost
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION took in an estimated $11.7M this weekend. Domestic total stands at $157.76M. #MissionImpossible Aw crap, there goes my "MI5 under 190 m" bet. NWA and Tom Cruise are killing me.
filmlover
Also lol at those Max Landis tweets. I never saw Chronicle but why did everyone involved in the film's making go on to become so insufferable?

Jonwo
Shaun the Sheep is still chugging along nicely, guess it's somewhat found its niche audience. I hope it gets nominated for awards, I think there is enough animated films being released this year to justify four slots.
