I'd argue they already have (tried at least) with The Winter Soldier. Whether you liked it or not, there's no denying it was at least trying to be a step above in terms of storytelling. And from the sounds of things, Civil War might end up doing the same as well.

Most critics and fanboys think Marvel has had a few great films. 

 

And they didn't have to make a half dozen rotten films to achieve it.

I'd like to see a rapturously-received one made before I send Jr. off to college though. That's all I care about. I don't want to leave "taking you to see a good DC movie" off the list of accomplishments when I do my own version of the Patricia Arquette speech at the end of Boyhood.

Daredevil Season 2 on Netflix may be more to your liking. Disclaimer: it's a tad violent.
