Long live the DCU (I guess).

Also, the comments on this are cancerous.

comments are absolutely pathetic. Snyder cult are insane. Hope they announce MoS 2 soon and extend contracts for Cavill and Adams so they can safely work on more Supes adventures

yeah good movies

A small side note, did you know Nolan's batman trilogy combined made less world wide than Avatar?

Additionally, as a side, anyone of the Nolan Batman films has a stronger narrative with more interesting characters than Avatar?

Another fact for you, Avatar made more than the Iron Man trilogy worldwide.

no he is still president for ALL things DC including the films. It says in the article

Quote

Johns remains at DC as a president and chief creative officer, but his portfolio doesn’t just involve film. He will continue to provide creative guidance into the company’s television and comic book efforts. An official announcement of Hamada’s hire, Warner Bros. said Johns will “work closely” with the new production president.

The Conjuring series has been hugely successful so it's no surprise that they want people from New Line to try and work their magic for DC. It bodes really well for Aquaman as Wan and Peter Safran are involved with that.

But did you know that Avatar is not even a 1/3 of as good as The Dark Knight, though? :sparta:

Back on topic, gotta say: me likey the New Line horror people takeover of the DCEU. Cause, you know, they usually make good movies.

Hey guys, did you know that the Avatar franchise has not gross a single $ since 2010?  Talk about a dead franchise

Cameron is going to have to up his game considerably for the Avatar sequels;actually make a movie that has something to offer other then nice visuals. You know, a film with good writing, believable charecters with some depth,a plot that is not a bunch of clichés, and maybe less shoving a message down your throat.

You don't make 2.78b dollars with just visuals.

Also if we look at the highesr grossing films since Avatar, none of them are exactly high brow. It's cookie cooker nonsense, a good job we have Jim to show them how its done.

For an Avatar fanboy to call other films "Cookie Cutter Nonsense" is pretty bizarre, since that is exactly what many people think of the plot of Avatar.

It's easy to produce "many" haters when everyone and their nan has seen the film.

Sound can tell stories too, with or without language.

Yes and does not need 250m to do it, a wikipedia page tell a story really well....

you make 2.7b mostly because of how good visual, rhythm/mood/feel, world and often mostly character's are a lot what make a movie work or not, story can easily get overrated in people mind on why they liked or disliked a movie, lot of people love The Big Lebowski, many could not even tell what is the story in that movie, many movies with the exact same stories got very different result, Avatar being a fantastic example of that or Rought Night vs Girl Trips, Hangover vs Hangover 2, etc....

The soundtrack is a major part of the mood/feeling. I think Jim's story telling should not be underestmitated. The overwhelming majority of watchers were invested in the story and throughly enjoyed the setup and execution of the moment Neytiri meets human jake. Action could be classed as visual but I got the feeling we're talking about pretty cgi and cinematogrophy vs everthing else. Theres far more to Avatar than the groundbreaking visuals, you just don't have many blockbustera to the same level of filmmaking.
