For what it's worth I think that's the definitive top 3 for BOT but I'm way too lazy to prove it using a point system.

STAR WARS had a better critical reception than EMPIRE, initially. Movies like FIGHT CLUB, THE THING, and HEAVEN'S GATE are considered in a far better light than when first released.

Fight Club is the best example in the Internet era. Can't really think of anything in the 2000's that has pulled off a similar modern classic status after very mixed reception starting out.

Quantum is easier to rewatch due to the short runtime IMHO. Skyfall is the best of the bunch overall. Never liked the cheesiness of Casino Royale's third act, but up until that point it's great.

There is no point in CR where the word "cheesy" pops in my head. But when the Bond series includes scenes like Jaws flapping his arms and invisible cars(amongst many many many others) admittedly, I may be grading on a curve. ;)

What did the fans think of ESB vs ANH? Kind of hard to gauge without the internet.

True, critics are divided among many classic genre films but what's usually a fanboy favorite in the past stayed the franchise favorite.

There is some romance dialogue in Casino Royale that is every bit as cringeworthy as George Lucas' romance dialogue in the Star Wars prequels.

Casino Royale is such a boy meets girl to me.

**possible spoiler ahead for the one person on here who hasn't see CR**

Sure, but has any Rom-Com ended with the girl dying then the boy calling her a "bitch"? ;)

You can't say "kind of hard to gauge without the internet" and then say "a fanboy favorite in the past stayed the franchise favorite." You don't actually know if that's true by your own admission.

Fight Club was 99, the internet era was still kinda in its infancy.  With sites like rottentomatoes a mouse click away that collectd all the reviews, I think it makes reassessing a film almost impossible because theres an obsession over the %.
