Moana opened great in Brazil yassss!! It's also doing amazing in Italy! Hopefully it has fuel left to atleast cross $25M in UK.

In Italy is doing good, in line with a medium animated but far far away from the top titles. However it's doing better than Sing, that is always a good thing. The only amazing run I see is France.

3-3.5 million admissions or $20+ million seems reasonable as I believe two blockbusters will soon be released and Your Name is doing phenomenal business and could gross north of $40 million bringing its worldwide cumulative to a staggering $400 million!

However, Moana will benefit from the Lunar Holiday, so it could potentially challenge higher ceilings, but its still too early to tell how strong WOM is although it has high ratings on Netizen, a high audience score, and a good critical reception.

Although I'm no expert in the South Korean box office, it seems Moana will stay flat on Friday when most, if not all releases typically increase.  Hopefully it rebounds Saturday and Sunday.

Moana had quite a large Saturday bump of around 187% which is larger than Frozen, Your Name, Big Hero 6, and Zootopia's.  Additionally, should Moana increase on Sunday by a small/good margin, Moana should comfortably pass 900,000 admissions in its first week of release given a Sunday to Monday drop of anywhere between 57-67%.

Sadly, however, the prospects of Moana surpassing the 1 million admissions mark in its first week of release look iffy given how strong Your Name is playing and Moana being somewhat muted compared to the likes of Frozen (I know, not an apples to apples comparison).

That being said, Moana, given how strongly it has been received should surpass Big Hero 6 and become the 3rd highest grossing film from the WDAS Resurgence Era behind Frozen and Zootopia.

P.S: I also decided to change La La Land for BH6 for my chart given how similar BH6's performance is to Moana's.
