BOFFY IV: The 4th Annual Box Office Theory Awards! (CEREMONY TOMORROW AT 2PM EST)

feels weird voting for rylance or goggins in breakthrough as both have been on my radar for about a decade. especially since there was sooo much great stuff from newbies this year (daisy ridley probably is THE breakout objectively speaking when we look back but she won't be on my ballot)

I'd say he's about as well known as Rylance on the big screen. He had like a cameo in Django and he's been in nothing else of note

Big screen maybe (he's had smaller roles here and there), but he's had two very well received and long-term television roles on The Shield and Justified from 2002 onward (and was Emmy nominated for Justified).

So it just feels strange calling him a Breakthrough since he's been doing well on TV for so long.

Where did Breakthrough Performance go? Bring it back!

(Besides Ridley, there was a lot of great breakouts in acting alone - Rylance, Goggins, couple others come to mind)

Whoops, must have edited it out by mistake. Fixed!

Breakthrough I view as a personal thing though. I've never seen The Shield or Justified but he's really freaking incredible in H8ful. I feel comfortable putting him in Breakthrough although I'm aware of both those shows.

You guys can vote for other people to beat him out though; we all know Ridley's winning that category anyway

Should Armie Hammer in Man From UNCLE be nominated in Actor or Supporting Actor? I mean, although Cavill is clearly the lead, he has just as much to do and screentime is shared fairly evenly I think?

Cavill and Hammer are both co-leads. Cavill is just slightly ahead in overall protagonist ranking.

Does Motion Capture count as a Voice performance (e.g Caesar or Smaug [I know neither are 2015])

Also does When Marnie was here count as a 2015 animation as I think its limited USA release was in June even though it was released summer 2014 in Japan.
