But none of them is called Tim Miller, or are they?

DC's gotta snatch him up and but him charge of their entire DC universe ASAP. Only reasonable course of action

You guys who're invested in these characters: accept that DC was heavily involved creatively, along with WB talent, in making these decisions. So who is going to fire whom? These are choices DC made. If changes are ultimately made at that company, and their board (or whoever has the ultimate clout there) decides to go in a different direction, that's great. But otherwise, there's no magic wand to wave and magically have "the perfect person" in charge. (And maybe it's worth considering that whoever "the perfect person" is will be different for different people).

And in the grand scheme of things... y'know, it ain't the end of the world. Worst comes to worst, what happens? A couple more movies get made, you really don't care for them, and a few years later someone comes along and does another version of it all. Just treat the current version like what it is: the cinematic equivalent of a limited-run graphic novel series. And down the road, someone else has free rein to (re)invent their own versions of these classic characters, and maybe you'll like their version.

On the other hand, it would be nice if someone would come up with a version of these characters that actually sticks. This whole idea that every Superman needs its Kypton being destroyed and that every Batman needs its Wayne parents death needs to be jettisoned.

Give him a 50M contract per year or something like that and let the man work his magic.

I have to disagree there.

When a comic run sucks, it takes a few months to fix it.

It took 8 years to fix Batman movies after Schumacher's damage.

Yeah, Sony is doing a Spidey reboot after only 3 years but they're probably the most desperate studio out of the big 5.

The characters will survive no matter what look at bond or batman or superman no matter what happens there will be movies in fifty years about those characters

The director of IM1 gave us IM2.
The director of The Incredibles gave us Tomorrowloand.

The director of TA gave us AOU.

The director of SM1/SM2 gave us SM3.

The director of Casino Royale gave us Green Lantern!

The director of TDK & Inception gave us Interstellar  (well, I liked it...but still)

It's tough to say 'get director XYZ to direct the movie and everything will be fine.'

For your consideration, we already got a snippet of what a Tim Miller JLA movie would look like:

This is a trailer for a game... It is a good trailer, but c'mon now.

First things first kick Patty Jenkins off Wonder Woman and get him in there to reshoot what he can. He'll infuse that movie with real heart

I thought Interstellar was really well liked by most?

Even better. Throw Suicide Squad into the trash as it is and reshoot the whole thing.

Even if this underperforms on top of the bad reviews, Affleck and Batman will be fine. Cavil and Superman though....

Yeah, Cavill's career will be on shakier ground if this doesn't pan out because no one knew who was before he was cast as Superman, and his only bid at being a leading man between those movies (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) was a significant financial underperformer. Plus the jury is still out if his acting consists of more than simply looking amazing in everything he wears, whether it's the Superman costume or glamorous suits.
