What about Arrival? :redcapes:

Arrival was fucked over by the low theater count, if anything, as it could've easily opened to 30M+, if not 40M.

And he has a point: though trailer views are not 100% indictive of BO results (Suicide Squad pre-release was probably the hottest social media performer in the comic book genre ever, and its YT trailers way more views than the BVS ones), Logan's trailer has actually outperfomed GOTG Vol. 2's teaser in terms of overall internet buzz. Though I imagine Guardians is gonna blow up when the full trailer releases (which should be w/either Rogue One or Lego Batman), but Logan has a good headstart, which will make people way more excited for the next tidbits of its promotion, and incidentally, the movie itself.

@James I really don't see Justice League pulling that much. Its audience (the superhero fans) may be downplayed by Thor: Ragnarok opening just two weeks prior and already giving them satisfaction, but even that is just a small detail compared to my real reasoning: Batman V Superman turned off a lot of folks. Sure, many came around on it through the Ultimate Edition, but it doesn't change the overall opinion on the film THAT much. It would have to be really, really good, and open at least at 150M (which it sure can, I'll give you that) in order to get to 400. Let's hope Wonder Woman can actually change the opinion on the DCEU so that such a number is truly possible, because for now, barely over BVS is as far as it can go imo.

I would agree if not for the reception of that first footage. It was insane. It still is. It is following the BvS/SS trend of constantly appearing on social media charts. I think the OW will actually be even bigger than BvS' with a bit better legs. It also doesn't hurt that Lego Batman and WW precede it. But yes, it will have to have a bit better legs. Thinking a 180m OW and a 2.2x-ish multi.

We shall see. Right now, I don't see it doing that much better than BVS (I absolutely agree it'll be leggier, if just because it's bound to be more lighthearted and probably shorter in runtime), but I don't disagree that the potential is there. Though Lego Batman I don't think will do much in order to further the anticipation for JLA (though it'll obviously do great for itself), Wonder Woman is the one whose shoulders are where the weight of such pressure lies on.

Not sure if I've posted my prediction or not, but here's the top 10:

1. Star Wars Episode VIII $720 million

2. Beauty and the Beast $450 million

3/4. GOTG 2/JL $400 million

5. Spidey $350 million

6. Lego Batman $340 million

7. Despicable Me 3 $330 million

8. Wonder Woman $310 million

9. Thor: Ragnarok $270 million

10. Coco/Fast 8 $250 million (Really not sure)

Honorable mentions: I believe these films will cross $200 million. Transformers 5, War of the Planet of the Apes, Logan, Cars 3, and Dunkirk. I want  Valerian to cross $200 million, but $150 million will already be a miracle, so...

At this point its hard to imagine that Ninjango will appeal to non-childeren the way The Lego (Batman) movie did (might)

LB will obviously will be out of it's league but I think Ninjago could easily do over $150M, with a chance for $200M.
