I can't wait for Baumer to see The Shallows new projected numbers. It'll be so entertaining.

Also I expect Dory to go over $75M. That thing is just a monster that won't stop.

BOOM!  There is some confirmation for The Shallows going $6.5m+

I bet it really takes off tomorrow as the word of mouth spreads for it and against Independence Day.

Am I crazy to think it can do $18M? It's getting really positive WOM. I'm asking because I loved it and I feel like I'm being blinded by my love for it.

It is heading for a true $5.4m Friday.  It would take quite the increase on Saturday and hold on Sunday to get there.  Could see it possibly happening, but a long shot.

Considering it is coming in 30% above the $5m estimate from earlier in the day, who knows.

22.7m is such a small bump from 17.4m Thu for Dory. Minions and IO both jumped 50%+ on Friday. But the weekdays for Dory were very strong starting with just 42% Monday drop and holding great. So the weekend hold will still be solid.

Warcraft will wrap under 50M domestic. It will also have a ridiculous Dom/OS difference for a Hollywood movie

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic:  $41,756,470    10.9%
Foreign:  $339,979,059    89.1%

Worldwide:  $381,735,529

Thanks @nilephelan. Just woke up to let the dog out. Checked phone real quick. Doing happy dance now as I go back to bed. Great number for Dory but I'm so happy Shallows caught on. I knew the evening shows would be strong.

@Nova I'm sure you're thrilled too. Ok back to sleep. :)

This was a marketing fail but did start out as a cool idea

Quote

Some of Fox’s initiatives to excite fans fell flat. Recently, there was a cool portalIndependence Day: My Street, where one could enter their physical address and see how their block being pulverized by the U.S. Air Force and UFOs. The clever idea backfired when the media noticed that users could enter in the addresses where recent tragedies took place, i.e. Brussels Airport, Café Bonne Biere in Paris and  1 World Trade Center; the latter which generated eerie images reminiscent of Sept. 11.

Finding Dory sold out again at my theatre for the earlier show tonight. Late show also did pretty good business, and the movie had an o/u 25M Friday, which technically isn't a great increase from yesterday but that's just because weekdays all played like Friday's.

Resurgence did about 10M tonight, which obviously isn't good but my GM is just glad it didn't bomb. Young males aren't the strongest demo at all in our market so 15-20M was the absolute ceiling this would have ever done. That being said, 10M likely means a sub 30 weekend and 70M total here.

Shallows did about 4.7M tonight, but the sheer amount of 10-13 year olds we couldn't sell tickets too was ridiculous. Probably as many people had to be turned away as was for Deadpool.

Free State of Jones did about 2.5M. Crowds enjoyed it, and frankly I'm surprised it did over 2M, considering the trailers rarely ever played in front of our movies, and the American Civil War isn't the 2016 Civil War movie that would exciteCamadian audiences.

And then Central Intelligence did 7-8M today. Good hold for it to be honest. Very good.
