Speaking of female leads in Blockbusters...who do you guys have as your Captain Marvel and do you guys think a Harley Quinn and Black Widow stand alone film would work?

I thought Brie Larson got the Captain Marvel job?

I would have gone with Emily Blunt.

Yes a Black Widow stand alone would work and they should have made that already;

I think Harley Quinn works best as a supporting character, she would get tiring leading a film. (imo)

Brie Larson is the leading candidate but a deal hasn't been made yet. I think Charlize Theron would make a good captain Marvel.

And yea I agree with you on The Black Widow thing. I think if they wait too long to make it though, it'll be too late to be honest.

Really?  Let's compare the flops to the success stories:

THE FLOPS/DISAPPOINTMENTS:

Teenage Mutant Flopping Turtles

Flopstar

Now You Flop Me 2

Flopcraft

Flop State of Jones

Independence Day: Flopsurgence

The Flop Demon

The Big Flopping Giant

The Legend of Flopzan

FILMS THAT DID WELL:

Me Before You

The Conjuring 2

Central Intelligence

Finding Dory

The Shallows

The Purge: Election Year

9 flops compared to 6 success stories.  It hasn't recovered

Nicely done on converting the films that disappointed into "flop" titles. Finding Dory and The Purge would have made for good "flop" titles too, I think, if they had disappointed: "Finding Floppy", and, "The Flop: Election Year" (this would accurately describe the current US presidential election process this year)

Peace,

Mike

I've always been happy with either Emily Blunt or Charlize Theron in the role but if Larson gets it I won't complain. I always thought the Avengers Prelude comic Black Widow Strikes would have made a good Phase 1 Black Widow movie.

Just got back from ID:R. WHAT AN UTTER PIECE OF ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!

How did Emmerich, the man responsible for one of my favorite movies ever (2012), manage to fuck this one so badly?!! The characters were terrible, the plot was non-existent, the story was awful, the acting was awful and most surprising, the destruction porn was awful. Like, there's one good scene in the whole movie, the one with London being destroyed. And that's it. It was boring and predictable as fuck and I kept checking my watch to see how much more I have to suffer. I am so freakin glad it bombed because it so deserves it.

Might be my worst cinema experience ever.

I went into this movie expecting to be amazed, mostly because critics hated it and they also hated BvS (and that one is the best movie of 2016 so far for me), as well as most movies I love (The Hobbit, Transformers, POTC, MoS etc). Now I'm regretting I didn't go to see Tarzan instead...

I know, I just wanted to show that the domestic box office hasn't exactly improved since May.

But films arent given a budget just based on what they hope to make in North America.  It's a brave new world.

Too old unfortunately. They need someone who's not going to age too much over the next decade or so.

I really think you guys should try harder with these flop jokes. Does anybody audibly laugh when they read them?
