What reaction/emotion are these emojis supposed to convey though?

When people use them I always wonder what they were trying to say because they're basically just... there.

IDK, I tend to use emojis that show some type of emotion (anger, sadness, disgust). These just don't, IMHO.

Doctor Strange Trailer 2 vs Ant-Man Trailer 2 (4 weeks): 14M vs 11.3M; Strange is doing 24% better than Ant-Man. Could totally see a 70M OW happening with such a shitty October.

Fantastic Beasts Trailer 3 vs Mockingjay P2 Trailer 3 (4 weeks): 4.5M vs 2.6M. FB is doing 73% better than Mockingjay.

Magnificent 7 Trailer 2 vs The Martian Trailer 2 (4 1/2 weeks): 3.6M vs 5.3M; Mag 7 is doing 68% of The Martian's views which would translate into a 37.4M OW. Still think the September record is happening.

Arrival Trailer 1 vs The Martian Trailer 1 (5 days): 7.3M vs 9.3M; Arrival has 78% of The Martian's views. This bodes VERY well, definitely think a 30M OW is happening.

Storks Trailer 3 vs Angry Birds Trailer 3 (3 weeks): 1.5M vs 3M; Storks is doing half of what Angry Birds is doing. Angry Birds did have the built in advantage of a brand but September has a weak market for families. Hard to say where this lands.

Sully Trailer 2 vs Bridge of Spies Trailer 2 (Total): 1.8M vs 1M. Sully's second trailer has been out for two days and has nearly double the views of BOS' second total. Regardless of the movie supposedly sucking I think it'll have a mid-20's opening; we'll see where legs take it from there.

 

 

 

Arrival won't go anywhere near Martian. The script is terrible. I say this as a fan of Amy Adams and Denis Villeneuve.

The reviews for Don't Breathe are great (for the genre) but the marketing feels muted.

I think Don't Breathe would have to do sub-$12M next weekend for that to happen. Also I think When the Bough Breaks is more likely to be #1 than Sully.

Mag 7, Fantastic Beasts, Passengers, Moana, and Sing will be our 200M grossers IMO; maybe Strange gets fudged in if it opens high enough.
