He should but Hollywood should stop casting him as the lead in anything that costs over $500,000 and give actors with opening potential a chance over him. Many critics darlings aren't cut to be movie stars. Yet Hollywood system prefers to recycle the same people cause they have very convincing agents or whatever, so Fassbender keeps bombing and bombing and bombing while actors who could turn out bankable are not given a chance. Screw that.
Elessar
As if Fassbender has been the lead in many blockbusters... "opening potential".... AC flopping is much more a result of other factors.
TimmyRiggins
LOL, yeah, this is such a bullshit thing to say. How many blockbusters has Fassbender led? Answer: One, that's it. And in case you thought of Steve Jobs & The Light Between Oceans as movies he's led that bombed, Steve Jobs was too cerebral for the GA who clearly doesn't care about the man after multiple documentaries & the Ashton film (film is brilliant), and TLBO, Disney/Dreamworks dicked around with the film for more than a year when it was in the can only to dump it in 1200 theaters in September, that + the film is very slow, not for everyone. Screw that. I don't think Fassbender got everything so easy. In his 30s he was playing a second role in 300 nobody remembers, he had to work to become lead. He is a good actor and he is good looking, i don't see why he can't lead movies. Everyone who is good looking and can act decently get many chances in Hollywood, not just Fassbender. Anyway i always believe that neither the success nor failure of a movie should be attributed to the actors. The media and the viewers do that because actors are the only face we can recognize after the movie, but that doesn't mean that it's right.
