Rip starwars Well don't know, it's like every other market (but a lot bigger) if the people dont' like it, you won't get anything.

TalismanRing
@Purple Minion you should just delete the post since I don't think even black out spoilers are allowed outside the Spoiler topic for several weeks.

Fullbuster
1 hour ago, pepsa said: Yes let's hope the next movies do get good/great reception on Chinese soil. Probably will never happen. What's killing Star Wars in almost every single emerging market is the fact they didn't have early exposure to the franchise in the 70s and no fanbase to rely on. In North America/Western Europe/Japan Star Wars means the borth of the blockbuster movies, it was a revolution and created a strong, dedicated fanbase. For these other countries like China Star Wars is not particularly exceptional or different, it doesn't mean anything to them..Worse, they probably don't understand SW because it's a decades old franchise with many references they can't understand. If Disney wants Star Wars to succeed in these markets then only a reboot of the franchise would do it...Say that SW9 will be the closure of SW as we knew it and start an all-new story/timeline in another galaxy, cut the ties with the old story entirely. They won't do that, it's too profitable with the current markets where it's huge + merchandising...And fans would probably be angry AF lol. But sometimes you need some courage if you want to go higher. Edited May 4, 2018 by Fullbuster
ZeeSoh
In India Infinity War has grossed about $30.12m USD in a week. For reference the last 3 Marvel movies (Spiderman, Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther) did a combined 33.9m usd in their entire run! IW did only 4m less in just a week!! FYI all 3 of those movies did great business, they are some of the highest grossing hwld movies here, so its not like I am comparing IW to low grossing movies. Absolutely Epic run! 3

Yes, that is a reasonable range. But let's see how presales evolves until release day. It could go even higher.
Mrstickball
Of the billion dollar OS movies (Titanic, Avatar, F7, F8, TFA, and JW), Infinity War has already captured 1st place in the following markets: India Indonesia Philippines Thailand It is getting extremely close in the following countries, and should pass the record holder no later than this weekend: Malaysia Mexico Singapore It may have a lot more smaller territories, but I haven't seen confirmed numbers for places like Vietnam yet. 1
