Before I started counting, I was thinking it'd be quite impressive if it added 1K today. Destroyed that.

Take the Thursday and Sunday paces with a grain of salt, especially Thursday. All the new showings with good seats are most definitely inflating the pace.

Gonna be big issues for theatres/hockey games that have already sold out for the weekend. Feel bad for the venues for having to deal with these announcements at the last minute.

This is only for Ontario btw, every province has their own set of rules but even so, Canada is usually only 10% of the domestic box office so while it sucks for NWH I’m sure the states will make up for us.

Tickets will be returned for all shows post Saturday and hunger games after that to buy them.

I feel they will put on max screens now so dollar amount be high.

Feel bad for cineplex they only recently been getting good business after 2 years.

is cineplex going to add middle of the night shows tomorrow night (i.e., like 1:30 AM friday)? or early Friday AM shows? at least for the imax / other premium auditoriums they might as well just jam some more showtimes in at odd times unless they can't for some reason

There’s really no other choice for them unfortunately, you can’t just pick and choose who keeps the seats. Really sucks for all involved.

Its  so unfortunate-what a roller coaster. From things seeming to get back to some semblance of normality movie going wise, to the deluge and demand of tickets for Spidey and constant adding of seats, to people getting refunds and from Sat onward you gotta rebook with 50 percent capacity in mind.

What a whirlwind

The Ontario situation is unfortunate but it’s not a major dent in the opening weekend. At the end of the day it might knock $5 million total off the number.

So at 244M we claim moral victory over TFA now… right 👀

Lol at these hysterical arbitrary 50% capacity limits.  They don't do a fucking thing.

Here we are 2 years into this and all the mitigation has done next to nothing.

Get vaccinated, wear a mask if required and go on with life.

$200M OW will still happen, though. Right, Empire City?
