Wait John Goodman was in Transformers 4 too? That increases my chances of seeing it... at some point... in my life.

It is literally a southern Walter. I think he's in the new one too.

Of the top 15 3rd weekends, the biggest share of final domestic is Jungle Book with 12% (with non summer weekdays). Almost all of the others are 9-10% of final total. Without Father's day, WW probably would have had a 38M weekend, which if it is 9-10% would be a 380-400M final total. 370 if it is 11%.

How are you Indian cricket fans feeling today?

I expected a loss since the semis, so not bad at all actually. It's weird, but I just felt we weren't winning the moment we won the semifinals.

Strangely enough, Zootopia and TJB are the only ones on this list not to cross 400m. This has suddenly given me a lot of hope, but I'm trying not to get ahead of myself considering I've had it at 74OW/210 DOM/450 WW. Poor me :sadben:

huh? What is the connection there? Animated Spidey will not do great because when a franchise goes from live action to animation the grosses massively drop

This.

And I am not buying the "Miles Morales as Spidey Will Bring Them In" argument. Morales was a flop in the Marvel Comics Universe...and was a major reason why the Ultimate Marvel Universe is now pretty much defunct. Peter Parker is Spiderman to a overwhelming majority of people, just as Clark Kent is Superman and Bruce Wayne is Batman. That is why readers rejected Morales;it had nothing to do with the character 's ethencity.

What Bay should really do is reunite with Nic Cage on one of these movies and have him try and defeat decepticons or whoever through sheer scenery-chewing. I'd be there opening day.

Maybe he could get J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Hensleigh to write the script with a polish by Robert Towne (and others) again.

I think an African American/Hispanic Spider-Man can potentially be a draw. If Black Panther does big numbers and attract a lot of families, I guarantee you they'll show up. Spider-Man is a favorite hero among kids, and young Latino and Black kids will be delighted to see a Spider-Man that looks like them.

Won't these same kids and families have turned up anyway? I think you're overestimating the African American appeal especially as BP will beat it to the punch by several months.

I think Aquaman is going to murder that Animated Spider-Man movie at the box office. I think people are more interested in live-action versions of these Heroes as Lego Batman has shown us.

Listen if I'm wrong you can always bring this post up and laugh at my wrong prediction.
