I am going to go with mother! on this one.  I actually only gave It Comes At Night a B.  mother! has an extra full letter grade of love from me.

I haven't seen mother! I kind of wanted to, but I'm thinking I might hate that now too.

Hum 2 2017 favorites with such nice craft, hard to pick, will need to rewatch It Come at night one day and it could take the lead, but red door stuff/ending felt like a weakness in theater, so picking mother! for now.

Man, that's hard. I have them pretty much back to back on a letterbox'd list. I appreciate aspects of them (like the camera work in that first truck scene in It Comes At Night) but then I also hate aspects of them (like both amounting to nothing - with mother! pointing out a problem but having nothing more to say about it).
 

Time has allowed me to appreciate mother! more away from the false marketing. I still have not rewatched it but plan too. I don't know if I plan on rewatching It Comes At Night....so there's that.
 

For now, It Comes At Night but I rated them the same right along with RAW.
