just read that Mute was duncan jones' passion project and that he'd been working on it for 16 years and he couldn't get it made until netflix got involved... maybe there was a reason no one else wanted to make microwave blade runner with you dude.

They're a mess these days. Even their shows premiering recently are projects that have landed with little fanfare for the most part. Luckily they have deals with Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Murphy about to take effect.

Speaking of which, it's kinda amazing how much of a no1curr Sundance turned out to be this year. Lots of stuff was well-reviewed but there wasn't a The Big Sick or a Call Me by Your Name or a Mudbound in the bunch. Hopefully the fall festivals provide some surprises for awards season that no one sees coming.
