Elessar
A shame if true. That would be about as much as some much smaller markets.Stupid germans... (hey, i'm german, i can say that about my people) Edited April 7, 2012 by Elessar
MasterDodsen
I think Germany will come around. They were the number 2 OS market when the original movie came out with 129M. Have faith people.By the way, I'm still going for 220M
CJohn
Amazing opening in Italy.Saw it today at 1 PM and was 30% full or so. Amazing for a movie at this time in any theater in Portugal.
efialtes76
HR: "Overseas, Titanic turned in a solid $35.5 million from 84 territories"
Elessar
That seems disappointing as well. Maybe even more so than the domestic bow. $2b is out of the picture (unless China surprises). Edited April 8, 2012 by Elessar
CJohn
That is very good. It will end with a much better result than Star Wars and The Lion King OS.
Rudolf
Nowadays a movie like Titanic should do 3 times as much OS than DOM.
CJohn
There are still 3 big markets left. And this is a re-release that will fly past Star Wars and TLK OS. Re-releases are not as popular OS as they are DOM.

pinocchio
Let's ignore the fact those 35 mio are just an estimate...But the number still sucks IMHO.

Fake
Right around where I was expecting. Should have decent legs to reach 90m or so in these markets.
Elessar
$2b is out of the picture (unless China surprises). For some reason i though it needs around $200m for $2b but actually it only needs $155m, so it might still make it.
CJohn
That is a very good result for a re-release. It will do much more than TLK and SW.
CassLX
That is a very good result for a re-release. It will do much more than TLK and SW.How so? TLK has grossed 84 million so far (BOM is behind in updating) with France still to come. It'll finish at around 90 mil OS. Titanic will get at maybe 100 million-120 million (I highly doubt its gross in China is going to explode). For a film that was such a phenomenon, it is disappointing to say the least. Leo Dicaprio even said the studios were expecting 400-600 million worldwide last year.
CJohn
They were stupid then Re-releases were never popular OS. Why would they become popular with Titanic?
