I hate early hyperbolic tweet reviews, especially from CinemaCon, but I'm still not sure why this was never doubted. Cruise is a sociopath, he's not going to screw up the highly anticipated followup to one of his most nostalgic movies. And the trailers showcased incredible aerial footage

I know I say this nearly every time, but there is an art to reading early screening/premiere reactions.  One can get a good idea of reception by how much people are gushing, what they're gushing about, and most importantly who is doing the gushing.

 

And if they're not gushing?  Well that says something else as well.

With the global premiere on May 4, reviews 15 days before release, Cannes screening and award for Cruise... I don't think reviews will be much different than these reactions 

 

It's hyperbolic for sure, but i doubt it's that much
