Gladiator 2 | November 22, 2024 | DENZEL IS REUNITING WITH RIDLEY?!

I have been bullish on this movie doing well if we get good Ridley and he delivers but some of you need to put the breaks on. Anything between 50-70 would be great for this and if it has Oscar Buzz and good WOM it will play through the holidays and it is the only Adult Male targeted  action movie of that period this year for the most part.

If nothing else, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what Paramount is going for. It worked for TGM.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't think there's a person out there that's hyped for Gladiator 2 that will magically not see it because a trailer plays a rap song. Just seems like a bunch of grousing over nothing if you ask me.

People who really want to see it, will see it. But bad music choice won't help to attract those who are on the fence. It's basically "I don't know man..." => "Nah, I'm good".

Well, it was a terrible movie as well, I almost walked out.

I would think that marketing your movie with a Kanye song would be a lot more controversial now than it was in 2016, although I doubt it would make the movie a flop by default.

For sure, it’s giving Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon vibes. There’ll be a rush opening weekend and PLF-heavy, but I don’t anticipate amazing legs unless WOM is through the roof
