Box Office: 'Venom' Passes $200M, 'A Star Is Born' Tops 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'

In a mid-week box office update, Venom did indeed cross the $200 million domestic milestone on Tuesday, earning around $1.027m (+42% from Monday, -9% from last Tuesday) for a $200.326m domestic cume. The film should pass the $202.8m domestic gross of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 right around the time it opens with a presumably huge opening day in China.

It goes to show that regardless of the critical reception...it was a crowdpleaser for the audiences.

Probably going to finish with 215M if it can survive the November onslaught. Still, even a 210 finish is great. Goes to show the power of not letting your budget spiral out of control. 

 

Star is Born is going to finish within 10M of 200 on either side. Oscar bump may change things but that remains to be seen.

 

Halloween 165M give or take. Overall, great October

Venom has done great, but critics reviews were literally the only thing it ever had going against it.

Every film except the adult ones like Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born will have a huge fall today. 

 

There is no doubt that Venom over performed opening weekend and legs wise but I'm not going to start treating it like it is having Guardian of the Galaxy,  Black Panther or Wonder Woman style legs.

This is a great drop for Bohemian Rhapsody
