Huh, 2.0 still managed to be the highest grossing movie in India this year. Isn't the budget like 75 mil though?

Weird though. I watched it in cinemas because it looked dumb and I didn't think people would watch it unironically. The dumbest fucking movie I have seen in the past three years. It literally works like a Birdemic sequel.

The film is a box office flop and yeah it was stupid.

The reason 2.0 is this big because it catered to whole India, while others are just limited to their respective industries, barring KGF.

There are mainly 5 industries in India

Bollywood (Hindi) ~ 40%

Tollywood (Telugu) ~ 12-15%

Kollywood (Tamil) ~ 12-15%

Mollywood (Malayalam) ~ 5%

Sandalwood (Kannada) ~ 5%

Rest (including Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, etc) ~ 15%

Foreign films ~ 10-15%

"Genres": Action 38% | Animation 21% | Horror 12% | Adventure/Family 9%

It says that the BO in dollars was 541M USD but I don't think that's right. The average ticket price is way lower. Colombia is held back because of that. Infinity War grossed 14,5M USD both in Colombia and Chile but in Chile, it only needed 2,3M admissions.

French admissions fell by 4.3% in 2018 to 200.5m, against 209.4m in 2017, but the country remained one of Europe’s leading cinema markets, according to preliminary figures released by the National Cinema Centre (CNC) on Dec 31.

In spite of the drop, the CNC said France was Europe’s top territory in terms of admissions if not by overall gross, ahead of the UK with 176m entries, Germany with 90m, Spain with 92m and Italy with 79 million entries,

Its probably the worst...

Germany:

For the exact numbers is one day missing (31.12.). At the last weekend of the year FB2 reached #1 of 2018, so I wait for the last day's details before I post the charts (maybe someone else doesn't want to wait? We will see)

Even if a local movie does nice numbers for the moment, I do not think 1 day will change the % = local movies part is 21,0 %

But it will change the admission, for sum and local part, so....

Atrociously low would be 100M.

90m are absolutely apocalyptic, considering the worst cinema year before (1989) had 101.2M admissions...

And the last time the ads count was below 120M! was 1992.

I really hope this is wrong and it turns out to be more towards 100M.

At least I always expected 100M based on the Weekly Top10 numbers, but if those numbers are true.

The top 10 fell from 92.1m last year to about 77m this year and the movies that were outside the weekly top10 would have dropped from 30m to 13m...

So I don't think the number is correct.

Agree

I am thinking beside screendaily usually is for OS details a good source they might have e.g. used e.g. insidekino as a source (as insidekino did show the last weekend), maybe bcs the usual sources are still behind or.... but missed insidekino just today updated the 2018 chart from 16.12. to 30.12 in one step. Probably bcs of the holidays or so in this case too

Thats 2 weeks of maybe missing details

Its one of the reasons I want to wait ill the 31.12. is included too, there seems to be the need to check the real numbers, not just estimates, or whatever they looked into

Argentina: 44.6M admissions (-6%). The fourth consecutive annual decline from 2015's 50M.

Is not that bad considering the terrible shape of the Argentinean economy. The Argentinean peso lost half of its value against the dollar (worst depreciation behind Venezuela), it has the second highest inflation in the world (also behind Venezuela) with 48,5% as of November and is in recession. Ticket prices were up just 23%.

Top 10 de 2018

1- Los Increíbles 2: 3.535.000 entradas
3- Coco:  3.140.000
2- Avengers: Infinity War: 2.860.000
4- Hotel Transylvania 3: 2.570.000
5- Jurassic World: El reino caído: 2.335.000
6- Bohemian Rhapsody: 1.450.000
7- El Ángel: 1.335.000
8- Jumanji: En la selva: 1.310.000
9- The Nun 1.155.000
10- Deadpool 2: 1.010.000
