Silence

Feb 19th, 3:00PM, 15% full

Trailers:

The Boss Baby

T2: Trainspotting

A Dogs Purpose

Pretty silent throughout. Laughs at a couple of points but other than, people were just sitting and watching. My friends and I liked it.

The Boss Baby had a trailer before Silence? I wouldn't assume there's a lot of audience overlap, but I've been wrong before.

Not only that, there was an ad for a preview screening of Trainwreck. Which came out in 2015.

I've had some interesting trailer choices lately; my Hidden Figures showing had pretty much the whole suite of this years animated films at an 8:40PM showing.

Quite a bit of laughs throughout, and some "oohs" at the fight scene when someone got hit pretty hard.  Most stayed for the outtakes at the end.

Park Place Stadium Cinema | Charleston, WV

The crowd was lively during this film. They were bonkers, too. I'm surprised I enjoyed the experience as much as I did because of it.

Most were either high school or college kids.

Trailers:
T2 Trainspotting - No response.
Kong: Skull Island - Two teenage girls (I think they were girls) stood up to take a selfie. They were on the other side of the row I always sit in, at the very back. Some laughter at John C. Reilly's character.
Alien: Covenant - Whispers and laughter for some reason? Weird.
Power Rangers - One kid two rows ahead of me said (and I quote): "Bullshit."
The Mummy - Silence.
Fate of the Furious - The audience got loud very, very quickly. I could tell that they enjoyed it.

I liked the movie, but there were 46 people seated. By the end of the film, there were only 35 people. A chunk of them left during the second act.

I think it failed to click with those who left. Otherwise, there were moments of awkward laughter and some people even jumped at certain parts.

Crowd was pretty responsive throughout. Lots of laughs when ever Hedwig was present. Some gasps towards the end. Unfortunately two teenage girls next to me decided to be assholes and play on their phone and talk the whole time.

March 2nd, 2017, 7:00 PM, 85% full
Regal Nitro Stadium 12 | Nitro, WV

Easily the biggest crowd I've seen this year. Also the most receptive.

Trailers:

Alien: Covenant (Trailer #2) - Two parents and a kid were present. They walked out immediately after this trailer played, and they did not return.
Kong: Skull Island (Newest Trailer) - It had some people talking. There was laughter during various parts, which I think is a good thing.
Power Rangers (Trailer #2) - A couple of chuckles.
Baywatch - Raucous laughter.

The Belko Experiment - Laughter all around. Pretty crazy trailer.

One other trailer played, but I forgot the name of it.

The film was very well received. People applauded (something I hadn't seen before in this area). There were grown men and women shedding tears. This film was so powerful that it even made me a little emotionally confused. That isn't easy to do. Best theater visit of the year so far.

They play red bands at Regal? I thought they didn't allow it. The only time I see them are at AMC Theaters.

They showed the Red Band trailer for Alien at my showing. (Marcus Cinema: North Shore Cinema).

A decent amount of laughter throughout, some of it being at appropriate moments, and some of it being debatable when it comes to laughter.  Applause at the end, though.
