Heretic
Since becoming 2013’s biggest hit last week, Despicable Me 2 shows no signs of slowing down, adding $1.2m (£767,000) for a sterling $66.8m (£42.7m) to date through Universal. Looks like it'll hit $70m. Amazing run. MU should end up over $45m, which isn't too shabby considering it came just after DM2.
SchumacherFTW
Not to mention that pathetic opening weekend. It's this year's MIB3 run. Looks like a busy weekend coming. Mortal instruments, Elysium, we're the Millers, Jurassic Park in Imax AND previews for pain and gain on sat, sun and Mon.
Heretic
Elysium will probably take the number 1 spot, but I wouldn't even be surprised if Millers edges it out considering how well it's done in the US. Over £2m is possible for both. Jurassic Park should do well in IMAX.
CJohn
Elysium and Millers will both do well. Same with Jurassic Park. Mortal Instruments is going to bomb, while everyone already saw P&G online, that will hurt it a lot. They waited too much time to release it OS. Films
You gonna watch the worst live-action animation movie of 2013? yes. Only cause I liked the first one (im in the minority) . Im probably going to see smurfs 2 and planes on the same day. A spinoff from a terrible movie franchise and an absolutely hated sequel,
SchumacherFTW
yes. Only cause I liked the first one (im in the minority) . Im probably going to see smurfs 2 and planes on the same day. A spinoff from a terrible movie franchise and an absolutely hated sequel, I wouldn't mind seeing Smurfs 2 as well as I liked the first one too. That said, I think I used up all my sequel credits by taking the other half to see Grown Ups 2 yesterday. Somebody needs to punch Taylor Lautner in the face. Really fucking hard.

So you are one of those very few people liked TS2! Btw Launter should get punched extraordinarily hard! SchumacherFTW
I haven't seen Smurfs 2. Honestly, any time Lautner and his frat buddies were on screen, I wanted to gauge my eyes out!
PhilipJ2001
anyone got any numbers for Elysium or Mortal Instruments from yesterday?

JCS
Weird how still no film has surpassed £50M at the BO by the end of August. Wonder if we will even get one to pass that mark this year, seems to be the year of mid-range hits and no massive films like last year.
