Capturing a big 86% share of the Top 5 films in the market, the UK opened to an estimated $4.5M on Friday from 1,342 screens, becoming the biggest opening day ever for a horror film and chalking up the biggest opening day for the studio in 2017.

- Deadline

That seems to be huge... :o

That's bigger than Dunkirk's OD. Wonder if Bridget Jones' OW record is under threat?!

£9.5m for IT. One of the most impressive openings ever I'd say.

Biggest OW surprise after BATB and Dunkirk, I'm shocked it was only £0.5m less than what Dunkirk did and also smash last year's September record.

IT will easily be number 1 next week, I imagine it won't be as leggy as Bridget Jones due to stronger competition from Kingsman but £30-35m total is likely

DM3 reaches £46.2m in the UK!

Also for Universal, Despicable Me 3 dropped a slim 27% on its way to a $500,000 (£378,927) 11thweekend for $60.9m (£46.2m) so far, while Girls Trip has reached $11.4m (£8.66m) after seven weeks in play.

Only £0.1m less than Dunkirk's OW and that was in summer and a lower rating! WB is having a cracking year second only to Disney

apart from Dunkirk and It, what exactly is so 'cracking' about WB's year so far?

Wonder Woman did mediocre numbers. Lego Batman did fine but nothing remarkable. Kong was weak. King Arthur was a bomb.

Well IT and Dunkirk will probably make around £90m combined, so that's a huge success.

WB still have Ninjago and Justice League coming out which should be successful.

Wonder Woman was a hit, it had good legs for a superhero film and it came out at a time during the hottest period of the year. It wasn't as big as BvS or SS but £22m isn't exactly a failure. Lego Batman did £28m which considering it was facing Sing is a solid results

Not a failure by any means no, I just mean it did an average performance for a superhero film.
