Avatree
Can someone please explain what the hell is going on with these ridiculous 3D-only previews? Its like 3D is dead and this is the final attempt to keep anyone buying tickets. Rampage is having wednesday 3d previews before opening on Thursday. RPO had the same, as did Tomb Raider. What is going on?
Avatree
oh, now that I've typed that out. Those are all Warners films. Fuck WB.

SchumacherFTW
Still a solid business model. 3D ain't that bad, so long as its imax....

I suspect that WB is experimenting with doing previews the day before release with their tentpoles much like they do in the US in lieu of midnight screenings which are good for big tentpoles like Avengers or Star Wars but personally I'd rather go to a 8pm showing and be home at a sensible time. I think Logan's 10.23pm showings was a great idea. I do wonder if WB will do it with say Ocean's 8 which isn't in 3D or will it just be big tentpoles like Fantastic Beasts or Aquaman? SchumacherFTW
Fantastic Beasts will have Midnight shows like last time, and Aquaman would probably follow too.

Aquaman is out at Christmas so I suspect they'll probably do previews at 8pm and then full release the day after. I wonder if they'll move it up a few days since Mary Poppins Returns is out on the same day.

I dunno, didn't stop Star Wars 🤔 and Superhero movies are more likely to get midnight shows or full day previews than an 8pm show.

PhilipJ2001
It was a complete disaster last year for Apes so I'm surprised Warner Bros are attempting it

RPO is colorful in the same way old sloggy oatmeal is colorful if you throw food coloring in. Sure it looks unique. But it’s still old sloggy oatmeal
