John Marston
Normal for Friday to be lower than Thursday?
Heretic
That's strange...Still, I think it'll do around £13m with that, which is still enough for at least £50m.
Rthmessiah
I was on drugs working out wrong thing more like around 5-5.2m
Heretic
Normal for Friday to be lower than Thursday? No, but it's been half term so people are off school. I guess it went down a little from Thursday possibly due to a reduced number of showtimes for the new weekend...

Heretic
That would mean a possible £16M 2ND WEEKEND!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING!?That's higher than QOS's opening, and also higher than TA's 4 day opening, as well as TDKR's OW! peludo
And I think we should remark that this is being doing without 3D
Heretic
I'm so flabbergasted by this run.At this rate, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest £80m for Skyfall. Another £27-28m or so after a likely £15-16m second weekend sounds totally plausible. This will end up being near the top ticket sellers of the century so far. John Marston
It would be cool if this could beat Avaturd in the UK
Heretic
I'd never in a million years thought I'd EVER be saying £80m is possible for a Bond film.

And second all-time just behind Avatar, if I am not wrong. It is curious how so different movies are making so ridiculous numbers in different markets during last months: Intouchables in France, Avengers in US, The Impossible in Spain and now Skyfall in UK. Heretic
In pounds it's easily 2nd of all time, though Mamma Mia did $132m back in 2008 due to a more favourable exchange rate.

It's a shame something like that would never happen in Australia

US dollar is only used to get the OS number as you know.
peludo
Home ground advantage. It's a shame something like that would never happen in Australia Well, I know it was a long time ago, but you had Crocodile Dundee which I consider as big as the titles I have mentioned. You can not never know if tomorrow you will have another movie like that. Nobody thought any of the movies I said would be as big as they have been. Never say never

Heretic
I'm still astounded everytime I see that Mamma Mia figure.Mamma Mia had an absolutely astonishing run. Something like a 13x multiplier from its opening.
Heretic
Using the same multiplier as last weekend, a £5-5.2m Friday would lead to a £16.1-16.7m weekend. That'd be a sub 20% drop.
