Cooper Legion
Even comparing weekday to weekday, the weekly drop is 59%, bit on the steep side. DOM top 200 looks pretty likely to me but it could miss if next weekend’s drop is large. 1

baumer
One thing I have to say about WB and IT2: To me, they did the right thing. They made a pile of money on the first one and for the second one, they must have known that it would not be as profitable....or will it? I'll get to that in a minute. They did the right thing by making this chapter almost three hours long. They must have known that this chapter wouldn't be as leggy or as profitable as the first but it seems like they put integrity over profit. And I think this will pay off for them in the long run when they do eventually release a 6 hour version of both movies combined into one. This is a very unique situation because the book is so beloved and it is 1100 pages, so they can effortlessly add in deleted scenes and I think it will make the film even better. Maybe this one comes in under 600 mill...big deal. They will still make a profit on top of what they made from the first. i say good for WB for doing it the way they did, 11

Cooper Legion
Yeah, out of options: 2+3 hours 2+2 hours 2+2+2 hours It’s easy to see that 2+3 is the least moneygrubbing, so some props to WB for that creatively.

Very happy with the ambition of making a movie for the fans and in honor of the book. Yes the movie could have been better but all in all im satisfied. The movies was never going to be as good as the book anyway. That was impossible
baumer
@fmpro you right about that. I don't see how any movie or television show could ever be as good as the book. There's just so much to cover. I think maybe the next thing they should do is make it episodic TV series.... maybe Netflix could air it or something. Give it one or two seasons and you can cover everything is a book has offered

a2k
I think A Simple Favour is a very good comp for Hustlers. Both R-rated female centric films released the same weekend in September. ASF fell 66% on 1st Mon and jumped 80% on Tue. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=asimplefavor.htm
