emoviefan
I have felt this would be a late breaking walkup movie but even I feel like Shawn and his former employer BO Pro both going with 70+ OW potential is a little too optimistic. Nothing seems in the presales or general buzz around it seems to suggest that right now. Would love to see it happen and maybe the walkups will explode even more than I thought. Will see. BigBoxOfficeBucks
Is this shaping up to be another TopGun-esque legacy sequel but without the OG? Holy cow! WB is not screwing around. They got another hit in their hands. Shits are about to go crazy this summer.

Mojoguy
They should market this as that OTHER movie to watch that's not Deadpool. Not everyone is going to see Deadpool.

John Marston
They are really promoting seeing this in IMAX but thanks to the bad release date choice it won’t even get a week of play in those theaters

This is not a MI7 situation where Indy already had IMAX booked so they couldn’t move it up a week.

They should have switched the two movies but they didn't so here we are.
dudalb
I can this going in almost any direction at the box office.; From being a big hit to being a dissapointment. I just am not feeling a Top Gun kind of buzz for this. As someone pointed out, although they are not saying so directly, it is pretty much a remake of the original Question is with CGI extravanzas so common, will audiences fell this one if worth parting with 12 bucks for?
Speedorito
At the moment it reminds me of The Fall Guy where everyone assumes it’ll be huge because of the cast or because it “looks like the type of thing audiences will eat up” or something, and that it’ll have crazy walkups because it has to. But the level of buzz (and pre-sales) just isn’t there yet (or maybe at all).

I think for whatever reasons, "Twister" is just not as well or fondly remembered as 'Top Gun" was.

I have never seen Twisters in my life. Meanwhile Top Gun was something my sisters demanded I watch.
keysersoze123
Twister was the follow up to Speed from Jan de Bont and opened the "summer" in 2nd week of May back in 96. Back then I thought the effects were great. Movie itself does not hold as well what Speed did. But Twisters was a huge hit back then. it was bigger than 1st MI movie which opened during Memorial day weekend. Only ID4 was way bigger as money shots were even better and it was about America saving the world. Siskel & Ebert both gave it a thumbs down back then. Ebert used to be blockbuster friendly back then. He even gave thumbs up to Speed 2 !!!
JimmyB
What was the last disaster porn movie to do decent business? San Andreas. Someone said the trailer is missing a money shot....something to get people talking. Is Twisters trailer any better than Into the Storm. Excepr for the effects, the film sucked ; was very badly written.

John Marston
lower number would be mad and higher would be OK. Hopefully the last few weeks push can get it higher
SpiderByte
That seems like a very realistic range.
