Same!  I ended up with:

  1. Jurassic Park
  2. Jaws
  3. Close Encounters of The Third Kind
  4. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade
  5. 1941
  6. ET
  7. Schindler’s List
  8. Hook
  9. Catch Me If You Can
  10. Empire of The Sun

Because much to @Plain Old Tele’s Chagrin, I ranked mind based off of my favorite John Williams’ scores  And sorry not sorry, Hook and 1941 are fantastic.

I went back-and-forth between Jaws and Jurassic Park. I don’t particularly like Jaws, but I firmly believe that movie is so iconic because of the score. It does about 94% of the work. The other 5% is that brilliant scene of the three of them on the boat talking about the Annapolis. With the last 1%, obviously, being that line: “you’re gonna need a bigger boat.”

But I have to give it to Jurassic Park. The “Welcome to Jurassic Park” Scene is such a mic drop. It’s what movies are made for. 🥰🥰

Director's Cut or the theatrical cut for 1941?

I ended up having a lot less time this month to watch films than I originally thought, so I only ended up getting around to watching 3 Spielberg films that I hadn't seen before: Adventures of Tintin, Empire of the Sun, and A.I. The former two films were pretty solid but A.I. blew me away by how great it ended up being. Definitely one of the Berg's most underrated films and it instantly became a Top 10 favorite in his filmography for me.

1. E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial - A+

2. Schindler's List - A+

3. Raiders of the Lost Ark - A+

4. Catch Me If You Can - A+

5. A.I.: Artificial Intelligence - A

6. Jaws - A

7. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - A

8. Jurassic Park - A

9. Saving Private Ryan - A

10. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - A-

11. Lincoln - A-

12. Empire of the Sun - B+

13. The Adventures of Tintin - B+

14. Amistad - B

15. War Horse - B

16. The Lost World: Jurassic Park - B-

17. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - C+

18. Hook - C

19. The BFG - C

20. War of the Worlds - C

21. Ready Player One - C-

The deadline is here! Thank you to everybody who submitted a list; you have no idea how happy I was to see such strong support for this countdown at a time when the box office, and by extension BOT, is in limbo.

However, while I take charge in tallying and prepping things up for the countdown (When it will actually happen is TBA), I will accept late submissions if you forgot or didn't have time. However, I would like it if you got your late submission in sooner rather than later. Again, all you need is a minimum of 10.

1941 is actually pretty good. Contains a manic energy we don't see again from Spielberg until Tintin. Not surprised Bob Zemeckis wrote it. Just way too long though.

Check out USED CARS (if you haven’t already). Zemeckis at his most madcap.
