TwoMisfits
So, I had posted the Encanto demo breakdown in the weekend thread, but I went back now to grab Coco's, and I think we can get a little more specific on which exact female is not showing up - Caucasian females 25+...the difference between the Coco and Encanto breakdowns is almost shocking in revenue difference...(from Deadline's OW analysis for both movies)... Coco OW 5 day - $72.9M Encanto OW 5 day - $40.56M Coco - $31.35M Cauc, $26.24M Hisp, $5.83M Black, $5.83M Asian (yes, this isn't 100% b/c Deadline forgot other:) Encanto - $7.71M Cauc, $21.09M-$23.93M Hisp, $4.06M Black, $3.24M Asian (and then other)... From Deadline... Encanto - "Encanto played best in the West and Southwest and saw a huge Latino and Hispanic turnout of 59%, with 19% Caucasian, 10% Black, 8% Asian, and 5% other." Now, Deadline re-updated to say later it was 52% Latino with no further breakdowns, so lets' run with both numbers as a range and leave the rest the same Coco - "Hispanic audiences will also give Coco legs: Their turnout this weekend repped 36% of all ticket buyers per Screen Engine/ComScore next to 43% Caucasian and 8% African American and 8% Asian." So, I'm curious to see if this holds for Sing 2 and/or this is a one off based on Disney totally dropping the ball on the movie marketing...b/c one demo totally skipped going to this movie and it had a big effect...it could be this demo is the majority Disney+ owners, so they have no incentive, and this will keep playing out for Disney animated movies (and the family ones, and thus why they are all going direct to D+ in 2022)...but we finally had a +$20M animated open, but we didn't have one with the exact audience we might have expected... GV 2016 had some strong summer weekdays Answer the call had 10M 3rd weekend 4.7M 4th, for gba currently projecting 11M and 6.6M or so, will help make up some ground vs summer weekdays. Then ATC had 2.3 5th weekend and GBA will be about the same I guess as it loses all its screens👀

It had, like, over 60% female attendance or something on OW. In Coco's year, they didn't just watch one movie over the 5 days:)...and there were other drawing movies for the demo at the same time (Wonder legged out to be the ultimate 25+ female hit), so competition always happens... And Gucci was 59% female, but I'm still looking for the diversity breakdown...it could be it wasn't released b/c it would also be surprising... Although even if every person at Gucci was Caucasian, that still doesn't cover the Caucasian drop from Coco to Encanto ($22M vs $24M)...
