This is the third movie in the sub-series for a franchise that has gotten more and more insular every single year. What is the appeal to the GA?

Because when it’s good, it’s fun and mostly disposable entertainment. Are there diminishing returns, audiences moving on? Probably - but Thor L&T just made like $340M last summer, and even a disappointing AMWQ just essentially matched it predecessor

Thor was an OG Avenger and Ragnarok had very strong reception. Still its early presales looked disappointing and it finished very well despite bad reviews.

Ant-man I guess played like Kang Dynasty Prequel for hardcore base. That is why there was early rush from fanbase. But it finished terribly as Ant-man does not play that wide as other movies.

Guardians here seem to lack any hook as we have had so much SH content including a holiday special for Guardians. So fun flick alone does not have the same pull. Especially with Mario being a juggernaut seem to suck the buzz out of everything.

Hey everyone-

Just letting you all know that my posting might get a bit sporadic for awhile....Ill post what I can, when I can. Life just about to get interesting (nothing bad! Just very busy) and depending on things I may not always get to a computer or get as much info down as possible. Again, nothing bad, just things getting a busy.

Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this little community. From my weird/creepy avatars to my posting to just being and sharing with me. Its a very theraputic thing to do and contribute to these forums. Thanks for all your patience and inclusiveness-I love my time I spend on these boards and community :)

Not to mention, even though it doesn't seem to be helping presales, Guardians is nice as in you've seen Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Infinity War and Endgame, you're set. Other MCU stuff relies on audiences seeing much, much more at this point to make good sense of it.

I'm working on figuring this out. Will say that there will be early access shows on May 24.

Really trying to max out those PLF screens, eh?

Honestly surprised more films haven't been attempting that strat following the success of The Batman and Top Gun: Maverick.

As much as they make tracking and forecasting more complicated, with the physical supply of premium seats limited and insufficient for demand on many releases, there is no reason any like $70M+ opener shouldn’t have a PLF only EA day before Thursday previews, or at least those shows staring earlier than standard for preview night. It’s just leaving money on the table from people who settle for standard showings, until the capacity can be increased

I am sure Flash will try though PLF screens will be premium at that time when we have big releases every week. Other movies are MI7 and Blue Beetle. I wish this summer were more spaced apart. There is hardly any breathing room for movies to thrive.
