More of a reference to (pop) star power helping to facilitate a $30M (if not $40M) OW in the Fall. I do think that even if it does go that high for OW, legs won’t be great

I am setting me expectations for 22/55 or something like that. Women King was also going above 20M and look at how that went. True Friday was kinda bleh.

Previews starting at 3 PM really skew things up.

Not close enough for that to happen. If Sony was confident about it, they would have estimated it at 20M. 19M is still very solid tho.

DWD is a strange beast. It got off to a torrid start in SLC, similar to a CBM, but since that first day it's only up 35%. Still, its double Bullet Train's final, and just shy of the final count for both Lost City and Morbius. It's about 60% of Elvis's final. I actually think Morbius may be a really good comp- fast start, rotten reviews- although I don't think it will match that film's OW because DWD is still lagging to a pretty significant degree in the suburbs.

 

Going to stick with $25-28 for now, but with room to the upside if it proves to be entertaining-bad vs. just boring-bad.

DWD opening weekend is going to be extremely front-loaded (Styles fan and intrigue to see it), I think an IM of 5-6x is possible ala The Fault in Our Stars

Maybe not extremely but I think its gonna have a MCU type previews/OW ratio

The Last 3 mcu movies have been two 5.2 IM and one sub 5x IM, that would be disastrous for DWD

Eh, if it's entertaining, it can be good-ish.

Critics are harsher than General Audiences, so if the movie is not a total trainwreck, audiences might recommend it
