I’m pretty sure they are just being cautious here and starting with one screen. It’s really

the first Netflix movies to get this big of a theatrical release. But if the shows start selling out, you can bet theatres will add more screens. They want to suck up as much money as they can in the limited timeframe. 
 

Too bad apparently Netflix has already stated it won’t report box office for the title. Maybe that will change if it does enormous.

It's why they listed the cities and theaters you could go to for the 4 days (that was my big city reference) - I have 2 options, but I don't know if I want to brave AMCs (which I believe are the only theaters to use the free tickets at)...

They want to juice up the film's PTA for this weekend and get big headlines. They're cheesing it, but it's no different than when an awards contender has a live Q&A session on its opening weekend in just one or two theaters. (Tar just did that last weekend IIRC)

So far the presales in my theaters are really ok and a similar result as the last time seems possible. I only wonder if the jumps in the next few days will keep pace with those of Halloween Kills back then.

I know there are possible extenuating factors that may bolster these estimates (though I don't personally expect it to change much of anything), we're looking at $6-7M previews and 7-8x IM for Black Adam.

$25m previews is what the first BP pulled off and mcu has just become more frontloaded since then (ds mom pulled off 36m, thor l&t pulled off 29m) BP also should have really good walkups since its a cultural event, i'd be surprised at thurs previews below 35m
