Ticket to Paradise Marcus Theaters:

Thursday:

Showtimes: 233

Seats Sold: 1000/25456

0.29x Bullet Train pure Thu on Wednesday night (1.16m)

Friday:

Showtimes: 540

Seats Sold: 4493/60632

0.89x Bullet Train true Fri on Wednesday night (7.38m)

I haven't been posting my Marcus numbers due to lack of good comps (and I still don't love Bullet Train as a comp here) but thought this was worth posting to show just how Friday-loaded the sales for TTP have been. It could easily have a massive IM from a soft Thu.

Did you check BP2 at Marcus. You have comps with Thor 4.

Disclaimer-I may....just may have messed up yesterdays comps. I was doing them today and saying "this isn't right"....I did yesterdays comps using Black Panther Numbers accidently....heh....ooops.

THESE numbers are Black Adam, I may have to go back and revise the Comps from yesterday just for continuity-so yea if these numbers seem way off from yesterday, that's why (and gives you an idea of how BP is doing in comparison at its stage)

Black Adam, counted today at 11am EST for Thursday, October 20:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 482 (9 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 413 (10 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 51 (9 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 26 (2 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 123 (5 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 459 (13 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal):
705 (18 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 2.259.

Up 10.5% since yesterday. To be honest I thought it would have a slightly better jump.
Comps (all counted on Wednesday of the release week for Thursday):
TSS (4.1M from previews) had
1.656 sold tickets = 1.365x for Black Adam = 5.6M /exactly the same number as yesterday) + no HBO Max competition = 7-8M I guess.
SC (8.8M) had 3.166 sold tickets = 72% of SC = 6.3M.
Morbius (5.7M) had 1.873 sold tickets = x1.21 = 6.9M.
Eternals
(9.5M) had 3.581 = 63% = 6M.
And Venom (10M, with very good jumps in its last week) had 2.498 sold tickets =
90.5% =9M.

The comps look pretty good but I'm not pleased about the small jump.

Why does it seem like the average of the Alamo Drafthouse comps are reflecting what seems like a very reasonable and predictable OW for BPW?

And is it my feeble understanding of all of this, or are BPWF's numbers looking better and better?

Nothing really has change. The film is looking to open huge as it always was. The big question is how big the bump will be once we get reactions in 5 days.

Under 50 is totally plausible, but it's not 20M disappearing since it never looked headed for 70

where do you get the 20m from? I would be surprised if PS is that high based on the data seen so far?

Edit: Never mind. You are assuming 70m is given. Ticket sales are driven by PS and walkups. PS have been meh outside big cities and walkups wont benefit from its bad reviews.

How much of a bump did DSMoM and ThL&T see after their social embargoes lifted? From what I recall (and just read back on), they had very positive reactions.

Hell, Eternals also had very positive reactions when its social embargo lifted and we all know how that turned out Did Eternals also see a bump in presales after that?

Neither DSMoM or Eternals had "very positive" reactions. Far from it.

Love and Thunder had the most glowing reactions, but i can't say anything about a bump in the presales.

Eh? MoM was about 10pts higher than thor 4 in critic score and audience score on RT
