3D doesn't have to 'come at you'. It can be used subtly to increase depth of a scene. If you have a 3D TV and use the on the fly 3D conversion setting you dont get multi level 3D like you would with natively shot 3D, you get a deeper scene that seems more like looking through a window. Depending on the material its quite pleasant. Seems to work really well for natural history TV.

3D doesn't add much IMO. It's just a gimmick that draws more attention to the fact that I'm watching a movie. I find it undermines the immersiveness of a movie because of that. Give me a great script or solid acting any day over 3D.

50 mill budget for AR

Which is money well spent. They did a great job of getting everyone back for the film. Plus Biggs and William Scott were EP's on the film so they got a bit more.

American Reunion should have much better legs than Scream 4 and make over 100M overseas easily. American Reunion will be succcessful when all is said and done

I don't think it's going to hit a 4 multplier.

She has UPDATED it, that's why I made the thread.

And why should we be discussing Friday numbers in a Thursday thread?

I hope not. There's just too much story they can tell. I hope this is the start of another trilogy.

Yeah but I just don't see the point unless it's adding a really cool effect. The "subtle" depth effects IMO are not enough to offset the darkness. I keep taking my glasses off to see the difference and all it is is the people projected off the screen a little bit. The darkness otherwise obscures and dulls everything. I hate it. Never again I'm wasting money on that shit.

Sure, just jump into the middle of the thread and start talking shit. You don't even know why I said not to post them.

Not for most of the THG loonies here, but for me it is. AR is not doing all that well and it is hilarious and Titanic is opening softly and THG, a horrible film in my eyes, is excelling.

What eva h8ta the film is epic genius :P

Not many movies with those combinations floating around. Hugo comes to mind, but after that, it's slim pickings.

I think Avatar is perhaps the biggest and the best.
