SLAM!

X | A24 | March 18th, 2022 | an homage to 70s horror films starring Jenna Ortega, Mia Goth, Kid Cudi, and others

is the latest horror film championed by A24 to be releasing in theaters.

Interestingly, a horror film about garden gnomes called Unwelcome was previously booked to release on March 18th before X took that date. Unwelcome has since been removed from the schedule.

Looking forward to this

Also looking forward to Unwelcome, which looks to be keeping its UK date thankfully.

I hate the trailer. Looks dumb. What is selling point? A porno + Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Meh. Seems even derivative of Eli Roth. Ti West does nothing for me, either.

But Jenna Ortega is a star and the buzz on this is very strong. Should play well at SXSW

It’s such a well cut trailer. The use of the pan down title card at the end is very unique. The selling point, I’d say, is a 70’s horror throwback.

Certainly looks the most mainstream of Ti West’s films. I love The House of the Devil. Terrifying.

Probably not too shocking but that's definitely a movie I would pay to see. It's a good trailer with obvious Texas chainsaw massacre inspirations and being born in the 70s and a child of the 80s I'm ready for a good old fashioned gory slasher horror pic that doesn't involve anything supernatural or time travel or hereditary like psychological plot pieces. Just give me a mad man with an ax or a chainsaw killing people and they can take my money.

I really hope the trailers are selling it as is because if it turns into another vapid "elevated" horror film midway through, imma riot lol.

I certainly hope this is advertised as is as well.  A bunch of people go to this place to make a porn film and violence ensues.  They never really show the killer in the trailer so hopefully we get some kind of Leatherface knock-off and/or homage. As I said, I'm ready for a good old fashioned slasher pic.
