Yeah, I don't feel the hype for Spectre too, but a lot of my friends can't wait for SW. Even my father and my uncle got excited after we had watched the teasers together. It looks like Spectre is in the 1,5 - 1,75mil range first weekend, SW can end up with 2mil if Abrams delivers.

Another fine weekend for the BO; among openers Everest did better than I expected while Sinister 2 was a bit below expectations and Daniel Brühl-starrer Ich und Kaminski a lot weaker than expected.

Among holdovers, FJG2 of course dominated the market with a sweet 33% drop, one of the best 2nd weekends ever - but there were some noteworthy holds farther down, too - Minions continue to be the nr.1 choice for families, and stuff for smaller kids even had increases. Pixels continues with very strong late legs after the disappointing opening.

 

Next weekend: The Intern should be mildly successful with mature audiences; Maze Runner 2 otoh is fighting an uphill battle against FJG2 which will be nr1 among teens again. The Visit might get some interest but it's been a long time since MNS was a draw, so I guess rather not. Well, the only interesting thing about next weekend will be, again, FJG2's drop!

Well, another win for FJG2 (on ist way to maybe 8mil total - this week's drop was a bit hard though), but the three wide openers did ok too (look at The Visit's PTA, not bad at all! Everest had a nice drop, still a bit disappointing.

 

Next weekend: Inside Out finally comes to Germany, and while the latest Pixar films were not that successful, reviews are good and maybe it can hit 3mil total for blockbuster status.  otoh, with that alte a start, everybody who absolutely wants to see this will probably already have done so months ago …

Sicario is a bit of a wild card, but Top5 might be possible.

with 3D, yes I think so! The opening won't be that big (I guess FJG2 will win the weekend) but if the quality is as good as reported, IO should have a long run!

Nice! IO and Sicario are doing much better than I expected it.

 

Other good holds: Both The Intern (last week 123k) & Everest (131k) should have 90k this weekend.

Hard to say. Somehow I think the buzz could be bigger. But that's only my impression. And of course it has many fans here too and it's the final chapter. I think it's too early to say something accurate. I have more and more the feeling that people tend to buy tickets or show interest in a movie just before it's released.
