What about Despicable Me 4? I have just found out it’s huge in Brazil, and releases  this weekend in Brazil. Any estimate?

Is it better now. I would expect this movie to see close to release. Below Garfield is bad.

DESPICABLE ME 4 T-1 PRE-SALES COMPS:

Garfield (444%): R$23.3M

Inside Out 2 (21.9%): R$3.8M

FNAF (123.9%): R$4.3M

Fast X (80.7%): R$4.03M

It had a very large boost this week and have passed the final day of Garfield in more than 4 times. This suggests some very good legs, while most comps suggest an OD on the R$4M range. It will hold the pre-release tomorrow before the expansion on thursday, R$4M on wednesday alone would be pretty big btw, with the Garfield comp suggesting it could go much higher. This is going to be a very busy weekend for sure.

deadpool presales officially starts at midnight and its the first deadpool movie to receive 18+ rating in brazil

Is it a mandatory rating or merely informative and under 18 can still get in with an adult?

16+ if with parents (or authorization)

So like 12 or 14 yo fan can’t watch it even if they are with parents? Authorization works only for 16 and 17 yo?

legally, yea (and some chains only allows 18+)

there are rare minor exceptions like the person who's checking the tickets really dont care (even if they are -16 and alone), but legally thats what it is

MID-WEEK BOX OFFICE (01-03 july):

1) IO2: R$36.5M/   2.38M admissions

2) A Quiet Place D1: R$3.7M/   236.1k admissions

3) Despicable Me 4 (wednesday pre-release): R$2.7M/  161k admissions

4) Bad Boys 4: R$800k/  40k admissions

Yeah the opening of DM4 was not as strong as I hoped or the comps made it look like, it opened bellow Garfield's previews. Inside Out 2 have passed Jaws and is now the 6th movie with most admissions of all time.

Could be bad walkups or simply too much competition with Pixar? It should improve for the weekend anyway. Despicable Me 3 had an opening of R$25M back in 2017.

Thursday:

1) Inside Out 2: R$7.7M / 391k admissions (-31%)

2) Despicable Me 4: R$4.7M/ 233k admissions (notes bellow...)

If IO2 shows the same legs as last week, it will see a third weekend at R$50M+, though the DM4 launch might slow down legs a little this time.

Despicable Me 4's OD was very similar to Minions, a bit bellow DM3. However, I do not have data if that number represents thursday only or the full OD including wednesday previews. PROBABLY is the second option, what would give an opening on the mid teens.
