If IO2 shows the same legs as last week, it will see a third weekend at R$50M+, though the DM4 launch might slow down legs a little this time. Despicable Me 4's OD was very similar to Minions, a bit bellow DM3. However, I do not have data if that number represents thursday only or the full OD including wednesday previews. PROBABLY is the second option, what would give an opening on the mid teens. It was not the second option but the first one after all. Opening record for the franchise, impressive start even more giving the massive competition.

Unfortunately I was not tracking yet back in the day so I cannot compare with those two. I can though compare to Guardians 3 and The Marvels, pre-sales have passed both already (combined).

This weekend was the only obstacle left, now we can say for sure: IO2 WILL become the best selling movie of all time, locked, and could do that as soon as next weekend. Also will be locked to become the first movie ever to do R$400M+ on the brazilian box office. As of right now, is the 3rd most watched movie of all time, behind only Endgame and Spider-Man 3. Despicable Me 4 also broke records and had the best opening from the franchise, 18th movie to sell 1 million admissions this year as A Quiet Place should become the movie number 20 to reach by next weekend. MaXXine also had a very healthy pre-release and it should beat franchise records too. Twisters got its release moved to a week sooner, to avoid competition with D&W and will not release next weekend, alongside MaXXXine, Fly Me to the Moon, Crossing and Luccas e Gi em Dinossauros.
ThatWaluigiDude
MONDAY: 1) Inside Out 2: R$9.95M/ 560k admissions 2) Despicable Me 4: R$6,4M/ 360k admissions 3) Quiet Place - D1: R$1.18M/ 62.5k admissions What a shock, IO2 sold better on monday than on thursday and friday. What a new topic. The surprise though is that DM4 and AQP also did that, curiously. Also MaXXXine had the third best average by screen from the top 10 last weekend. Fun fact: Compared to last year, 2024 is, at the same timeframe, only 1.1% behind despite extremely pessimistic predictions only a month ago. All thanks to Pixar (and now Illumination).

titanic2187
7 hours ago, Joyous Legion said: USD kind of meaningless once ER but lc can be meaningless because of inflation. Thank god for admits USD is much more meaningful than you think. Avatar 2 drop about 30% in admit globally and that USD worldwide gross reflect that drop pretty well. In Brazil, Titanic's admit was about 17m+ which translate to $70m back in 1997-98. Today, IO2's admit in Brazil run pretty close to Titanic and that USD gross reflect this relative strength too, unlike lc which IO2 is like more than triple of Titanic while in fact both have similar number of admits. Admit is very useful but failed to account for variety of viewing format of PLF which only happened in current cinematic landscape.
ThatWaluigiDude
It looks like Imax will be expanding to more cities in Brazil. Currently there are only 12 screens in the country in 10 cities. Despite that, Imax have been overperforming hard on Brazil and earned R$25M this year alone, making Brazil the no.1 market of Latin America. ThatWaluigiDude
Deadpool & Wolverine's pre sales are above the total from Deadpool 2 by 25%. If you compare only the same period, D&W is above D2 by an insane 1900%. 13 hours ago, thajdikt said: What are your expectations for Deadpool and Wolverine?
