Isn't this making the movie more vulnerable against BPWF? A direct competition from likely similar target audience.

I really don't understand this in the slightest. In what way would — at the low end — 53-54m admissions, worse than Top Gun: Maverick and No Way Home in the past year alone (let alone comparing it to pre-pandemic movies), be anywhere near as good a performance as the biggest movie domestically in a decade since The Phantom Menace in 1999?

 

And that's even without going into the way in which Avatar made its money, which puts the impressiveness of its performance far beyond its raw ticket sales.

Marvel's channel on youtube has more subscribers and much bigger initial reach than the 'Avatar' youtube channel. Yet Avatar 2 trailer has more views than the black panther 2 trailer, despite BP2 being out much longer. BP2 is a film that's looking to be making a big $170m+ opening weekend too.

Say what you want but is foolish to think anyone would see this as a simple Doctor Strange sequel after ALL the above mentioned. If otherwise then someone over Marvel Studios has to be fired because for a franchise that has lasted this long with this success is plain clueless.

 

Ok a movie with Dr Strange and Scarlet Witch vs a movie with Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Spider-man, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Captain America, Iron Man, Ant-Man, etc. (Civil War).

 

Why should these movies make an equal amount?

 

Because of an end credit scene only Wandavision fans understood?

Less than you would expect, there are loads of foreign language releases of the trailers. Youtube is kinda segmented to regions.

That 125m+ Charlie said, 80m of that or more is coming from foreign language dubs of the trailer.
