Antman 3 OS thread

Recommended Posts

Internationally, Quantumania is estimated to be 13% ahead of Ant-Man and 27% below Ant-Man and The Wasp on a like-for-like basis. Removing China from the comparison, the opening weekend for Quantumania is 52% ahead of Ant-Man and 5% ahead of Ant-Man and The Wasp

IMAX Update

Quantumania grossed $24M globally, 28% higher than the combined worldwide openings of Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp and is the fourth-best IMAX global start for February. International markets contributed $11.8M through Monday which includes China where the Marvel film grossed $4M in IMAX, repping 21% of the box office.

In my opinion Ant Man 3 not being able to outgross the first two movies despite Kang and the Multiverse is a much bigger problem than Black Panther 2 dropping 500M from the first or a film about Thor post-Endgame and other new Gods doing "only" 760M

They will now have to stop for a moment and think about what to do to finally improve their films and TV series, because in the past they were still successful despite having some problems here and there (too many jokes, some bad dialogues etc), but now that the box office is finally paying the consequences of the quality it cannot be ignored anymore

So only UK is impressive. Should beat the last movie. India also looks meh and will probably drop off after OW. Mexico should also beat last movie but not by that much. Any other markets looking good? South East Asia and Gulf are probably other markets with potential to increase from last movie. Rest are impacted by poor exchange rates and/or stagnant markets.

Seems likely to beat previous 2 in Italy looking at OW.

For anyone who's knowledgeable about this situations can you explain it?

So, Antman flopped in China...Could it be because the Chinese GA and casual MCU fans there aren't aware that Marvel is back in the mainland? Or has China done a 180 on Marvel and rejected it?

Japan Box Office

Disney's "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" became the 1st Foreign Film to rank No.1 in Weekend Chart since Universal's "Jurassic World: Dominion" (July 2022)

Well, the actual thing is that Box Office Tracking Site here has added previews to WKend Frame, that has overpowered over "Demon Slayer: World Tour" (3rd WKend) in Admits.

Gross was impossible but Market give priority to admits in terms of WKend Rankings!

#AntManAndTheWaspID  #Quantumania  Indonesian OW est. $5.1M

Recent MCU
Wakanda Forever $6.0M
Thor 4 $7.1M

Very solid number for the Ant-Man subfranchise

It's a drop from ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, though. It made $5.75M back in 2018. However, that is a way better hold compared to almost all territories.

You should consider Indonesia Market is far bigger than 2018…This is the developed market.

That's why I won't really consider it THAT solid. It should have increased.

Not really. Indonesia has not yet gotten fully back to pre-pandemic level in terms of showtimes. Also yes, it was about 5 years ago, but remember the growth of the market was disrupted for almost 3 years. I would say that overall, the market right now is only slightly bigger than 2019/early 2020.

How are Covid-19 restrictions there?
